Expro treats facility produced water to comply with strict local environmental regulations

• Expro was approached to provide a fast-track production solution for a sizeable onshore gas development based on a modular early production facility (EPF) suitable for a 15+ year life
• A key part of the facility delivery was the provision of a produced water treatment package to treat a low volume of contaminated water separated from the gas processing system
• The facility was installed in a remote area and the operator was limited on water disposal options. As such the produced water will be safely discharged to the local environment and must be treated for discharge in accordance with strict pollution control regulations, challenging Expro to design a suitable package

• As part of the overall EPF delivery, Expro designed and installed a bespoke, three-stage produced water treatment package capable of treating up to 1,000 BPD of produced water from the facility
• The treatment package consists of a de-oiling hydrocyclone, degassing drum and both solids removal and oil coalescing filter vessels to efficiently remove residual oil and suspended solids from the water stream and meet the regulatory discharge requirements
• The package is designed to remove oil from the water to below 10 mg/l and also reduce the total suspended solids (TSS) content below 100 mg/l. Separated oil is recycled back to the main process and trapped solids are periodically removed for disposal
• The produced water package is an integral part of the overall facility and the operator would have been unable to begin production without the package due to the environmental discharge regulations

• The fast-track bespoke production solution allowed the operator to monetise its gas and condensate production from the field
• The produced water treatment package provided by Expro ensured that the operator would comply with the strict pollution control regulations
• The produced water treatment package was provided as a modular container-sized unit for ease of transportation, on-site installation and hook-up
• Expro operate and maintain the produced water treatment package on behalf of the operator as part of the overall EPF operation
• Fast-track delivery of the package in compliance with strict local regulations, in addition to international standards
