Following the successful design, supply, installation commissioning, and ongoing operations and maintenance of our client’s Early Production Facility in Assam, our client had taken a controlling interest in a small offshore oil and gas field located on a block of the Mumbai Offshore Basin and they reached out to Expro for a design and facilities solution that could be installed on an offshore structure
Expro assisted our client in developing an efficient and cost effective design of facilities that would allow the conversion of a jack up rig into a Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU)
Expro had demonstrated an excellent safety record and a high uptime at the existing Assam facility. The client was looking for a service provider that could provide an MOPU process and utilities topsides equipment; design, build, installation and commissioning experience but with operational capabilities in India too. The client had also selected a UAE shipyard for the conversion process which gave Expro a strategic advantage for the integration work with our strong presence in Dubai

Expro Excellence

Expro designed the process topsides for separation and treatment of 10,000 BOPD, 5,000 BWPD, and 15MMSCFD gas with export to pipeline specifications directly to the Indian government owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) oil and gas pipelines
Expro offered a compact, fast track solution while also providing commercial options over a seven year period
Expro’s contracted solution included the design, supply, installation supervision, commissioning and seven years of O&M services
Expro offered a delivery schedule that aligned with the client’s development program and a good working relationship with the appointed shipyard and the marine partner

Value to client

Expro’s commercial terms had a significant benefit to the client as it allowed for lower up-front expenditure and allowing them to extend the cost over the project duration aligning with planned production revenues
Expro delivered a bespoke, compact design which was cost effective for the client. We were able to offer in-country support at the rig conversion site and a full-service O&M office within the Mumbai area
The customer was looking for a hands-off approach to the topside’s delivery and they selected Expro as a trusted partner to deliver a fit for purpose topsides solution
