Alejandro Gonzalez

Meet Alejandro Gonzalez, a laboratory engineer based in Argentina. Alejandro graduated NTU University of Mendoza with an Electronic Engineering degree and after gaining four years’ experience in the industry, Alejandro joined Expro working mainly within wireline, but provides support for well intervention, caliper and well testing.

What keeps you motivated to go to work every day?

Mainly personal growth and the rapid development of the company. Almost every day we are expanding our portfolio of services and customers and it is exciting to be a part of that.
The motive and incentive that drives me is to see that we all grow when the company does.

What do you like most about your job?

I love my team, Diego and Walter - we make a good team! It’s something employees stay at Expro for – the companionship and collaboration. It’s a value that is always present here, and our companions try to work in the safest way to make sure we all go back home every day.

How have you evolved from your first day in Expro to today?

My evolution has been through learning to work and deal with suppliers and customers, and try to deal with situations or problems that arise myself.

Are there any challenges in your work and how do you overcome them?

Yes. The main challenge is to meet the demand of the operations, and another is the learning of the whole company. The services I provide in my role are not definitive because other

services or product lines can be added to this. I’m not just a laboratory engineer, but really a full engineer, because I learn from many areas of services and products within Expro. I overcome the challenges I face with effort and dedication. You don’t need to be a genius, you just need to bring dedication to everyday situations.

What does “a day in the life” look like to you?

I get up at 7am, I live close to work so I have breakfast and go to the base. Before starting with the scheduled tasks of the day, we have our traditional drink of Argentina - Mate (a caffeine-rich, infused herbal drink). The day usually runs into the night because when maintaining logging tools and trucks for Eline, there are many tasks to do. When leaving work, despite being on call, I try to take part in other activities, such as, hiking in the North Park in Neuquen or I take advantage of getting together with some friends.
